The Dry Meadow

The perfume took its own time to settle, and after a little over a month, it has transformed beautifully. The initially bright citrus and aldehydic sharpness have now blended seamlessly into a heart of dry spices, much like the picture it seeks to portray. Yet, that citrus never truly disappears—it lingers quietly in the background, like the relentless desert sun, lending a constant sense of warmth and dryness to the composition.

As it progresses, a subtle smoky, dusty, and earthy facet begins to emerge. It reminds me of a weary traveller resting beneath a lone tree, surrounded by the comforting aroma of weathered wood, while a cart laden with fragrant spices stands quietly beside him. It paints a vivid scene rather than merely presenting a sequence of notes.

To me, this is one of Mr. Mayank’s most complex creations so far. More importantly, it feels genuinely original—a fragrance that tells its own story instead of following familiar trends. I’ve particularly enjoyed wearing it in the current weather, where sunshine and rain seem to play hide-and-seek, with temperatures hovering around 25–27°C and humidity close to 88%. Under these conditions, the perfume feels remarkably alive.

Performance has been outstanding. A single spray below the neck on my T-shirt continued to send pleasant wafts my way for nearly six hours, which is impressive, especially considering its natural composition.

As is often the case with fragrances built around naturals, I believe the remaining raw edges will continue to smooth out with further maturation. I also have a feeling that pairing it with a light spray of Santal Pristine would create a beautiful synergy, allowing creamy sandalwood to serve as the perfect closing argument to an already evocative olfactory journey.
